Eighty-two million. That’s the number of people who live below the poverty line in Nigeria, according to Nation Bureau Statistics. That’s 40% of the population who live on less than $1 a day. A population that is estimated to grow into 400 million by 2050, according to the United Nations.

At the heart of this staggering figure dwindling in an unstable economy that has stymied the spread of wealth beyond the elite, was Metarmophoo formed. Metamorphooo is a non-profit organization on a mission to save the next generation through poverty eradication programs and empowerment schemes for women and less privileged, among many others.

The goal is simple: To drive transformation in communities that grows into an empowered and equitable society. It could start with a homeless person receiving shelter, a low-income family obtaining financial support, out-of-school children having access to quality education, and a structured/safe environment. What is Metamorphoo?

Metamorphoo is a Non-profit passionate about holistic community development and sustainable solutions to human living. Her primary focus is on two schemes: Poverty Alleviation Scheme (PAS) and Human Empowerment Scheme (HES).

The highlight of the Poverty Alleviation Scheme (PAS) is to identify limitations and improve quality of life through giving, financial aid, medical support, and provision of basic human needs -food, potable water, shelter, and clothing.

In the same vein, Human Empowerment Scheme (HES) focuses broadly on strengthening human capital development. More specifically, to provide technical assistance and support for the less privileged through coaching& mentorship, talent/potential identification, advisory services, and small scale business setup.

Launched in 2019 as a medium for positive lifestyle transformation, Metamorphoo has grown and is seen as a sustainable initiative providing Nigerians with an immersive and engaging opportunity to grow in their capacity.

Core competencies and projects

Over the years, Metamorphoo has developed a holistic and bottom-up approach to creating a systematic change in local communities. This is achieved by developing operational areas to provide necessary supports to needy persons. Leveraging on the impact of volunteers, the organization monitors the sustained growth of enrolled beneficiaries, encouraging them to become a mentor to a new set of persons in need. With this model, all programs are delivered through the network of beneficiaries for mentoring support and full-scale reach of individuals in need.

A trajectory of the organization’s growth in Nigeria has witnessed the feeding program of over 40 women in Bonny, Portharcourt, vocational training for over 50 women including the sponsorship of a 21-year-old in 2019 to a 6 months fashion design school after her potentials were discovered.

Still reiterating her commitment to providing incredible opportunities for nurturing and empowering the creativity and growth of artistic youths across Nigeria, Metamorphoo has supported the welfare and education of an orphan from the age of 2 years. Today, he is an undergraduate at the University of Ibadan.

For Metamorphoo, answering the call for action by creating a community that believes in improving the lives of others towards meaningful lifestyle transformation remains the banner flag of the organization. However, through small individual actions, together, we can add up to a meaningful collective change to impact lives for the greater societal good.
